ARTIST STATEMENT
"I was born and raised in Harlem, New York—a place with a rich history, an abundance of soul, and an undeniable energy that shaped the way I see the world. Now living in the South, I’ve found a different kind of rhythm—a deep-rooted, warmer energy. An energy that moves at a different pace altogether. And for me, finding the common ground between the two inspires a lot of what I do.
I work primarily with acrylics, creating large-scale pieces that reflect moments from my everyday life. My work is rooted in storytelling—whether it’s a memory from my childhood in Harlem, an experience from a past relationship , or a random interaction that sticks with me for reasons I can’t always explain. I paint what I feel, what I live, and what I observe.
The scale of my work is intentional. I want the viewer to step into the moment with me, to feel the color, the textures, and the weight of the experience. Acrylics give me the flexibility to work fast and layer deep, letting my emotions show up raw on the canvas.
Ultimately, my art is about connection. It's about both preserving and highlighting the beauty in the ordinary and inviting others to see the world through my eyes—even if only for a moment. That level of transparency breeds relativity. And relativity leads to connection. And I believe connection is the spark in the earliest stages of change."
